One of the key looks of modern vintage styles is the bright and chunky bangle! The deveopment of early plastics in the 1920s-40s made bakelite, catalin, casein and lucite extremely popular with jewellery makers especially during the war years when metal was scarce.This gorgeous example is probably catalin, it has tested negetive for Bakelite but possesses many of its qualities but catalin was used for bolder brighter colours like this until a later period. The diameter is smaller than some so it needs a little pressure to get on and off over your hand but it does fit. Equally a 1980s costume would be fantastic with this, layered up with other great colloured bangles! Internal diameter 2.6" (7cm)
